Shares on the Dhaka and Chattogram stock exchanges fell for the second consecutive day yesterday as shaky investors went for selling while some adopted the ‘wait-and-see’ stance amid the ongoing gloomy market trend.

Stocks listed with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) today broke a gaining streak that lasted for two consecutive sessions as falling investor participation led to reduced trade.

The domestic stock market has started the week on a rising trend as investors were steadily increasing their participation.

Stocks continued to drop for a second consecutive trading day yesterday as general investors rushed to rake in profits by selling shares. 

The domestic stock market took a dive yesterday, the first trading session since Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal proposed the national budget for the fiscal year of 2022-23 in parliament on Thursday.

Dhaka stocks underwent a massive erosion yesterday, with a dearth of buyers and panicked investors pressing for sales pulling the index below 6,500 points again after one and a half months.
