Augustana Colleges John Deere Planetarium will host free "Spring Open House" events on Saturday, featuring stargazing, geology and more.

Next Monday, parts of the country will get to experience something you don’t see every day, a total solar eclipse. Lee Carkner, professor of physics at Augustana College, dropped by Our Quad Cities News to explain the phenomenon and how to get the most out of the experience. For more information, click here.

The planetarium show will be offered Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. and weekday evenings at 7 p.m. Admission is free, but reservations are required and the program is not recommended for children ages seven and under.
