The Sylacauga City Council is expected to vote on an amended salary schedule for the fire department, and possibly other departments, during its next regular meeting, set for Dec. 5.

The Sylacauga City Council split 3-2 in the election of its council president and council president pro tempore during its regular meeting Tuesday evening.

The Sylacauga City Council has unanimously approved a “reimbursement resolution” that might pave the way for a future bond issue without approving, or even discussing, such an issue.

Both issues will likely be brought up for a vote when the council meets to officially close out the fiscal year at 3 p.m. Sept. 30.
