Forecasters expect 6 to 10 inches of snow in the northern half of the Berkshires, with 3 to 5 inches in South County.

Downpours and 50-plus warmth in New England and New York, blizzard conditions in the Midwest and Great Lakes, and a polar express reaching the Northeast and deep into the South.

Temperatures in the 90s, combined with high humidity, will make it feel sultry and potentially miserable, especially in South Berkshire. Potentially severe storms also are in the forecast.
