A 15-year-old boy is in life-threatening condition after he and two others attempted to ride on top of a moving GO train exiting Union Station after midnight Saturday.

A GO train passenger was hit in the face with a heavy object in an unprovoked attack last weekend, police say, and investigators are now trying to identify a suspect. 

Metrolinx has suspended all GO Train service due to a CN network-wide system failure to all rail corridors. Trains will continue to hold at the nearest station.

VIA Rail confirmed to Global News it is in talks with rail line partners to bring back two daily commuters — trains 82 and 83 — to serve London and Toronto.

Police stopped the train after they were called to Islington Avenue and the Gardiner Expressway, and the Lakeshore West rail line, just before 9 p.m.
