Movistar renews legal challenge against Chile 5G auction Thursday 4 February 2021 | 15:17 CET | News Movistar Chile (Telefonica) has made a fresh attempt to halt the imminent tender of 5G-ready frequencies by launching a legal challenge before the country s antitrust court (TDLC - Tribunal de Defensa de la Libre Competencia). According to a report in business daily Diario Financiero, the operator is opposing the tender in two of the bands â AWS and 3.5GHz â on the basis of calculation errors on the part of the authorities that could lead to its rivals Entel and Claro (America Movil) exceeding maximum spectrum caps.
