The Finance Ministry announced that it has approved several welfare measures for the agents and employees of the Life Insurance Corporation of India. The benefits include increase in gratuity limit, eligibility for renewal commission, term insurance cover and a uniform rate of family pension for LIC agents and employees.

The welfare measures include modifications to the LIC (Agents) Regulations, 2017, an increase in the gratuity limit, and a uniform rate of family pension, among other things.

Currently, LIC agents are not eligible for renewal commission on any business completed under the old agency.

The Indian government has approved welfare measures for over 1.3 million agents and 100,000 employees of state-run Life Insurance Corporation (LIC). The measures include increasing the gratuity limit for LIC agents from ₹3 lakh to ₹5 lakh, expanding the term insurance cover for agents, and making reappointed agents eligible for renewal commission.
