Georgia animal shelters are working alongside national groups to save lives of animals who aren't adopted by waving fees and encouraging fostering during National Adoption Weekend.

The 'Clear the Shelters' program allows those interested to adopt a dog, cat, or kitten for $0. Puppy fees will be reduced to just $50.

The Animal Care Centers of New York say they cannot take in any more cats as they have reached critical capacity.
