Mr Castleton was pursued and bankrupted by the Post Office who took him to court over £25,500 he didnt steal, after a fault with the Horizon software made it appear as though money was missing.

Paula Vennells says she has "listened" to those calling for her to return the honour.

Former subpostmaster Lee Castleton, who was pursued through the courts, went bankrupt and had his familys life torn apart , said he and other victims of the scandal had been traumatised.

The actress, 41, who played Lisa Castleton in the four-part ITV series which followed the story of hundreds of subpostmasters wrongly prosecuted for theft.

Former postmaster Alan Bates led and won a legal battle after himself falling victim to the scandal. His victory paved the way for dozens of convictions to be overturned. He is portrayed by Toby Jones.
