The tour agents and managers of a New Zealand island where a volcanic eruption killed 22 people have been ordered to pay more than $A9 million to survivors.

Forty-seven people were on White Island off the coast of Whakatane on December 9 2019 when a volcano erupted, killing 22, which include 17 Aussies.
