Detroit Lakes residents Roger Lee and Sonia Anderson were chosen from a field of 13 nominees for the title of 2023 Becker County Outstanding Senior Citizen at the county fair on Thursday, July 27

Nominations are open for Becker County's 2022 Outstanding Senior Award and interested parties should make their nominations to MAHUBE-OTWA for the award ceremony scheduled for the Becker County Fair, running from July 27 to 30.

As part of an effort to give back to those who provide daily meals for seniors, the local Council on Aging donated $700 for gas cards to Nutritional Services Inc., coordinators for the Detroit Lakes Meals on Wheels program.
