We can take a look at some of the observations out there from local storm reports and see what is happening around the area, and one of the things that i have been tracking is the winds. They have not materialized yet, but some of the reports around the area have given us rainfall accumulations and rates of up to one quarter of an inch in our an hour in places. We have some localized flooding up around alamo, and at the off ramp to livermore road. These are people on the ground. Roadway flooding is reported in emeryville. What this most likely is is some stream flooding. There is a lot of rain coming down especially in paul alto and san san jose. The afternoon commute is a mess and more is on the way. Live, where you live, this is abc 7 news. A storm is soaking the bay area tonight. Live doppler 7 shows heavy rain that is about about to let up. That rain is expected to continue through the night, into tomorrow. Taking a live look at San Francisco. More than two inches has pelted the city. Thats the most in three years. Rain has swollen bay area waterw waterways. Ties creek is looking like rapids tonight. And the bay bridge is slick. The winds are also a problem. A tree came crashing down on to a muni bus in San Franciscos financial district. Luckily, no one was hurt. We have Live Team Coverage from the north bay to the south bay. Were still seeing those lingering, scattered showers. Very light to the north in novato. Then vallejo, looks like you may start to see it. I do want to point this out, as far as rain totals we saw. Since january 1st, for San Francisco, 3 1 2 inches of rain already. On average, we get over an inch since january 1st. So for this time of year, this definitely did send us well above what we normally should see. Oakland, since january 1st, saw about 3 1 2 inches of rain, bringing us about 2 inches above normal. And look at san jose, you got a decent helping of rain yesterday. It and that bumped you up to 1. 92 since the beginning of the year. Its been quite a wet start. Well talk about that in just a bit.
