PENN YAN — The Penn Yan Action Coalition is gearing up for its annual Community Read program and is inviting everyone to join in.

Creators and editors Bethany Snyder and Alex Andrasik are looking for fiction, nonfiction, memoirs, and poetry that speaks to what makes the Finger Lakes region so special.

"Choosing the Hard Path;" from the front lines of the Civil Rights movement to an iconic draft card burning demonstration, and beyond.

"Dancing in the Mosque: An Afghan Mother’s Letter to Her Son," by Homeira Qaderi, “Challenges you to reconsider the meaning of motherhood, sacrifice, and survival."

The scholarship will empower life-long learning and provide financial assistance for trade-specific tools, trainings, and certifications.
