On a road trip through north Georgia, Loran Smith is reminded of classic film star Susan Hayward.

LAGRANGE – It is always exhilarative to become knowledgeable about the history of Georgia towns and communities and what their signature factoid might be; to explore their history and lore is fun and uplifting.

Though it may be small, only 28.5 miles long, north Georgia's Soque River is great for fly fishing.

Fly fishing and a chance to visit good friends is the reason for repeated trips to north Georgia.

Now that we have said goodbye to 2023 and are looking at what 2024 has to offer, Athens will see a variety of milestones and anniversaries.

Though much has changed in Florida since Loran Smith first visited decades ago, he still finds it enchanting.
