BUSINESSMAN Manuel Pangilinans Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC) has expressed interest in acquiring Ayala Corp.s 35-percent stake in Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC), the private operator of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 1 (LRT 1).

LIGHT Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), the operator of LRT-1, announced the suspension of operations in Baclaran station starting this Wednesday until Sunday for repair and maintenance. The LRMC said it would replace the rails that would allow the trains to reverse or turn back smoothly. The initiative is part of LRMCs ongoing efforts to upgrade and maintain the railway systems efficiency.
