The newly launched tender for the nations largest green hydrogen plant removed the controversial clause which the some bidders labelled as discriminatory. However, the new norms have a stricter qualification criteria.

IOCL cancelled the tender after the Independent Green Hydrogen Producers Association challenged it in the court, citing alleged discriminatory clauses that favoured IOCLs joint venture.

On February 21, IOCL cancelled tenders for its inaugural green hydrogen plant to be set up in Panipat, Haryana, according to a corrigendum seen by Moneycontrol.
