The Pennsylvania Sires Stake championships for three-year-olds may have been contested in daylight Saturday (Sept. 3) at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, but several stars definitely shined brightly.
The New York Sire Stakes visited Batavia Downs for the final time this year on Wednesday (Aug. 31) with a dozen two-year-old trotting colts and geldings competing for the remaining spots in the finals to be held during the Day of Champions at Tioga Downs on Saturday (Sept. 10).
On Sunday (Aug. 28), Rebuff returned to his victorious ways at The Red Mile in the $80,000 third leg of the Kentucky Championship series for sophomore trotting males in 1:51.4.
On Sunday (Aug. 28) The Red Mile will host two $80,000 third round Kentucky Championship series events, two $30,000 third round Kentucky Commonwealth series events and four $15,000 third round legs of the Kentucky Golden Rod series for male freshman and sophomore trotters and pacers.
They turned for home in a $74,435 division of a Pennsylvania Sire Stake (PaSS) Sunday at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono, and the two favourites were battling – the one with the driver with 14 lifetime wins in North America on the lead, the one with the driver with 12,982 wins coming on.
