As of now, four animals have been kept in the quarantine area. According to the Veterinary Department, 10 animals have died due to the virus so far.

Govt orders 28 lakh doses of vaccine to combat virus

Over 100 cows were reported to have died in Madhya Pradesh due to Lumpy Skin Disease in the past few days as the virus has reached 26 out of the states total 52 districts, officials said.

This recent development has sent district administration officials into a tizzy

The CM said that it is necessary that we immediately recognise the symptoms of this disease. Animals infected with the lumpy virus undergo many changes.

Section 144 imposed: Transport of cattle from any other district while selling or buying cattle in haat bazaars across district banned; animals afflicted by the lumpy virus disease will also be banned from drinking water from public water bodies to avoid contamination; one head of cattle is dying daily from the disease; many have symptoms like nasal discharge, lacrimation, skin disorders and fever

The orders have been issued on the basis of the recommendation of the report received from the deputy director, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, Alirajpur.

To deal with the situation, the district administration has called for vaccines from Gujarat. The work of vaccinating all the cows has also started.

At least 173 cases of lumpy virus have been found among cattle in Delhi, mostly in the southwest district, and no death has been reported so far, authorities said today.

With this, the administration is on high alert. After getting the first batch of vaccines, the department now put a demand for 30 thousand more vaccine doses.
