After 173 cases of lumpy skin disease were found among cattle in the national capital, the Delhi government established an isolation ward and a 24-hour helpline number, in an effort to stop the virus's spread.

The Delhi government has deployed 2 mobile veterinary clinics and 11 rapid response teams. Most cases have been found in the South and West districts of Delhi

As of now, no animal has been found infected in the district, but arrangements are being made as a precautionary measure.

On receiving information, collector Praveen Singh sent a team of veterinary doctors to the village on Saturday afternoon. After which, the team immediately started treating the bull along with providing precautionary doses to the rest of the cattle.

The deputy director of veterinary services said that the precautions are being observed in wake of several cases of lumpy virus, which have been detected in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
