Sue (Severns) DuSablon – formerly of Carmi

Sue (Severns) DuSablon, 79, of Seymour, IN, and formerly of Carmi, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, IN. She was born in Evansville, IN on December 22, 1943, the daughter of Frank and Thelma (Bowers) Severns. Sue married Arthur B. "Art" DuSablon, on December 15, 1990. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Seymour and had previously been a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Carmi. Sue helped Art with operating Eastside Package in Carmi along with serving as a Carmi City Councilwoman and the Police Commissioner. Sue was the life of the party wherever she went, and she made a celebration out of every holiday, especially Christmas, her favorite. One of her greatest characteristics was that she never knew a stranger and could spark a conversation up with anyone. In her younger years she was an avid saxophone player, and she really enjoyed attending concerts and listening to live music. In her later years she trav

Girl Scout troop’s extra items distributed locally 12/27/20 10:22 PM Nearly double the amount of nuts and candy ordered by Girl Scout Troop 1239 recently was delivered to Missy Casner’s house. After the girls took orders online and on paper, Casner expected to receive 295 items. When they arrived via FedEx, though, she went into the garage where her husband, Monty, was sorting them and realized there was a lot more than expected.
