Some private daycare operators were seeing red on Wednesday following the release of a document from the Nova Scotia government that incorrectly said they must change their business model if they want funding from the new $605-million federal-provincial affordable child-care agreement.

Some health-care workers who live in the Timberlea area are upset over the changes being made at their daycare. Willowbrae Academy is changing its business hours to 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. as of Sept. 1. The current hours are 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Some private daycare operators in Nova Scotia say parents could end up paying a lot more for their services unless the province amends an agreement with Ottawa for $10 a day childcare.
