Fire destroys Bowie business Fire swept through the Ace Hardware/Bowie Lumber Company in Bowie Monday, destroying the building at 602 W. Wise Street. The call came in about 8:45 p.m. and when City of Bowie firefighters arrived, heavy smoke was coming from the building and flames could be seen on the roof.
