This step by the traffic police has received a mixed reaction on social media. While some say that naming and shaming the employees will knock some sense into people to drive safely, others say that this is just an extra burden for the cops and companies. Some residents also compared it to the initiatives taken by the police in other cities
Clement Jayakumar, Secretary of Mahadevapura Task Force (Mobility), told Bangalore Mirror, “Work has started on the project. The junction level crossing has been closed. As of now, the foundation work for the two pillars has been successfully completed. We have given a timeline of 1.5 years.”
In most places where metro viaducts are erected, traffic flows on both sides of the median. With the median at the centre, the space remains unutilised. With the portal pier design, traffic will flow on both sides and under the viaduct. The central lane under the twin flyover near Doddanekundi is expected to be completed soon and is likely to be open to traffic by next week.
