Erika Beras, co-host of National Public Radio’s “Planet Money,” traveled to Shale Elementary School north of Columbus, Ohio, to visit the third-grade classroom of teacher Mandy Robek.

An official at Shale Meadows Elementary School in Ohio brought a reading of "The Sneetches" by Dr. Seuss to a halt when a third grader mentioned racism.

About a dozen parents and students protested with signs Monday in front of the Olentangy Local School District’s administrative office.

Mandy Robek had read only a few pages of Dr. Seusss "The Sneetches and Other Stories" when her third-graders began picking up on its themes.

After a student realized that 'The Sneetches' is a commentary on racism, the school district's PR department shut the reading down.
