deny joe biden his electoral victory on january 6th or seek to invalidate across a number of battleground states. no doubt about it, this committee which was approved on mostly a partly line vote, it is going to take effect, and the investigation could go deep and it could go into next year. manu raju on capitol hill, thanks so much. joining us to discuss, congressman cuellar of texas. the original commission was going to be 50/50 democrats and republicans. but for this select committee, democrats get to appoint eight members, republicans get five. some critics say this is doomed to be a partisan investigation from the start. what do you think what do you say to them when they say that? certainly i think the opportunity was to go and make it as bipartisan as possible. but, as you know, the
aftermath of joe biden s victory and electing two democratic senators, and the aftermath of also donald trump kcriticizing and saying that the election was stolen from him in that state. amy klobuchar plans to have a field hearing in georgia in the weeks ahead and also having a series of field hearings here in washington as well to continue to make the argument that they believe a federal legislation is needed and to push back against what s happening at the state level. but that s an effort, jake, to make a political argument going forward. it is not an effort necessarily to make a law, simply because they do not have the votes and the 50/50 senate to do it. but the democrats want to keep this issue front and center and alive in the run-up to the 2022 midterms where they believe this could drive up the vote and drive up democratic voters interests with congress at stake. all right, manu raju on capitol hill, thanks so much. abbie, let me start with the basic strategy of this. chuck
