As we release "The Big Burn" podcast, we're looking back at the biggest wildfires recorded in California history. All but two have burned in the last 20 years.

Evacuations were in place south of Carmel on Saturday after the blaze was reported around 7 p.m. Friday in the Palo Colorado Canyon area, authorities said; it was 5% contained as of 7:45 a.m. Saturday. Highway 1 was closed from Rio Road in Carmel to Andrew Molera State Park in the Big Sur area Saturday morning.
