Fundraiser to protect iconic redwood set for Saturday
The fate of the iconic twin-trunked redwood tree on Walnut Avenue near Santa Cruz High will be decided next week by the Santa Cruz City Council after the matter was pushed 90 days by the Council last September. The appellant of the tree's removal, Keelan Franzen and his partner Annika Mancini, are holding a fundraiser Saturday afternoon to honor and help protect the tree.
