In accordance with Wilkes-Barre Township’s annual tradition, Mayor Carl Kuren presented a proclamation at the March council meeting naming township resident Raymond Kennedy as “Mayor for a Day” on Thursday,
Due to the pandemic last year, Kieran McMahon couldnât fulfill his duties as Mayor for a Day; therefore, Mayor Carl Kuren once again this year named McMahon as the Mayor for a Day at councilâs March meeting. McMahon will fulfill his duties Wednesday, March 17.
Kieran was born in Wilkes-Barre on Dec. 21, 1951 to the late Peter and Mary McMahon. He has lived his entire life in Wilkes-Barre Twp. Kieran was brought up in the Georgetown section of the township. He attended St. Josephâs Monastery and elementary school and Wilkes-Barre Twp. High School. He moved to the Blackman section of the township where he resides with his wife of 41 years, Pamela Remakus McMahon. They are the proud parents of three children, Tara, Kieran Jr. and Meghan, and two grandchildren, Clare and Toby.
