Nonprofit groups across Hawaiʻi Island hosted five “Get the Drift and Bag It!” beach cleanup events last week, in collaboration with the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup.

Fish Pono- Save our Reefs, a local public education campaign, aims to raise awareness on replenishing herbivore fish populations for healthy coral reefs.

July 9, 2021 Olivia Jarvis University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo cross country runner Olivia Jarvis was named the Pacific West Conference Women’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She is the first Vulcan to win a PacWest Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year award. One athlete per sport is chosen, based on a combination of academic and athletic success.
