The tiny St. Louis County village will become a neighborhood in Normandy effective February 8 after voters in both municipalities approved Proposition 1.

The St. Louis Boundary Commission approved putting the proposition on the ballot finding that the two municipalities share the same school system and would benefit from a merger.

The two municipalities first explored a merger in 2020 but pulled back due to a lack of support among Normandy officials.

Mayor Mark Beckmann said the Missouri Department of Labor is investigating the incident.
