The LaGrange City Council discussed a request to rezone 54 acres located at 1510 Lukken Industrial Drive that would allow for a large mobile home park during their work session on Tuesday morning.

Over 200 homes are proposed for a large development off of the 200 block of North Davis Road in LaGrange. The project would coincide with plans to widen Davis Road, but the city would have to approve a rezoning request to allow for the development first.

The LaGrange City Council is currently in discussions to potentially limit the number of package stores within the city.

City regulations state that package stores cannot be located within 300 feet of a church or housing authority property, and cannot be within 600 feet of a school or college campus.

On Tuesday the LaGrange City Council approved a controversial rezoning that will allow for just under 400 homes to be built on three contiguous properties off Youngs Mill Road.

On Tuesday, the LaGrange City Council will consider a rezoning request for a large housing development on Youngs Mill Road. The development has gotten some opposition from nearby residents who are asking the city to deny the rezoning.

For years, the reduction in speed for the school zone along Hamilton Road has only officially included Troup High School, omitting the nearby Lafayette Christian School. The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is looking to fix that with its recent radar permit recommendations.

During the LaGrange City Council Meeting held on July 13, the city held a public hearing for a rezoning request that would allow for an unknown light industrial facility.

The LaGrange City Council is considering changing its Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) to allow for vinyl siding on existing homes in some zoning designations. Discussion on the proposed change comes after it was discovered that vinyl siding had been used in violation of the UDO during the recent renovation of a home.

The LaGrange City Council is considering a recommendation from the Board of Planning and Zoning Appeals to rezone three properties on Young’s Mill Rd. to allow for a large residential development.
