The Missoula City Council voted to table a proposed ceasefire resolution regarding the Israel-Hamas War. The decision came after hours of discussion over three separate meetings.

The Missoula City Council voted on Monday evening to table a proposed ceasefire resolution regarding the Israel-Hamas War.

Members of the public offered mixed opinions in calls and letters to Missoula City Council members and in public comment.

Citing community safety and divisiveness, members of the Missoula City Council on Wednesday tabled a resolution calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, saying the measure would force the city to take sides in a conflict it doesn't understand.

After debate from the council, councilor Mike Nugent requested to table the motion, saying voting "yes" or "no" would be signaling that one side of the conflict was correct.
