Businesses must apply by Dec. 31, when the California DFPI licensing safe harbor ends, to continue operating while their licenses are reviewed.

The Oct. 27 meeting will be open to the public and led by Senior Deputy Commissioner Suzanne Martindale and Deputy Commissioner Melinda Lee. Commissioner Clothilde V. Hewlett will be in attendance, along with ACA members on the committee.

California Debt Collection Advisory Committee, established under the Debt Collection Licensing Act, will meet Dec. 16 with members from the debt collection industry and consumer advocates.
