A two-day retirement celebration for longtime Detroit Lakes Public Schools vocal music instructor — and muslcal theater director — Kathy Larson is planned for this coming weekend, Aug. 13-14. A Saturday evening cabaret and retirement reception will be held Aug. 13 at the Historic Holmes Theatre, with a mass choir concert to take place the next day, Sunday, Aug. 14 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

The Luther College Cathedral Choir, under the direction of Mark Potvin, will perform Sunday April 24 at 8:30 and 10 a.m. as part of the worship services of Cambridge Lutheran

The Luther College Cathedral Choir will present their Homecoming Concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 27.

The festival will be something like an all-choir reunion, as the four guest conductors taking part in the event are alumni of Detroit Lakes High School's vocal music program, and Laker vocalists past and present are invited to take part in a grand finale concert.

Three Detroit Lakes High School choir students were set to perform this weekend as part of the 2021-22 Minnesota All-State Choirs during the Minnesota Music Educators Association Midwinter Clinic in Minneapolis.
