Smith has established scholarships for current voice students and music education students. There are three awards for 2023: the Reginald Smith, Jr. Diversity Scholarship in Opera (one undergraduate award and one graduate award) as well as the Reginald Smith, Jr. Diversity Scholarship in Choral Music Education (one undergraduate award). 

University of Kentucky alumnus Matthew Gibson was named director of the Singletary Center for the Arts, the performing arts center for the university and performance home for the university's School of Music and many community arts organizations. 

Motivated by a continual commitment to reflection and renewal, Project 13: Create a DEI Art Fund for Capital Projects, co-led by Melody Flowers, executive director for Strategic Analysis and Policy, and the dean of the College of Fine Arts and professor of Theatre and Dance, Mark Shanda, has made significant progress. 

“RAUSCHENBERG: A Gift in Your Pocket from the Collections of Friends in Honor of Bradley Jeffries” brings together rare and unseen paintings, drawings and photographs that were gifted to UK alumna Bradley Jeffries by the artist, as well as personal objects and ephemera that honor their friendship. The exhibit is free and open to the public through Jan. 7, 2023.

Nancy Fish Hanna has established The Dorothy Dowling Fish Scholarship in honor of her late mother to benefit the UK College of Fine Arts.
