The cost of renting a house in regional Victoria has increased by 11.1 per cent, while units are 7.9 per cent higher.

The average price of a home in regional Victoria is now $610,000, with units also rising to an average of $425,000.

Throughout 2021, regional Victorian house prices grew at the fastest rate in 20 years, with the median house price rising by $120,000.

House prices continue to increase in the Wellington Shire, bucking a national trend and leaving a shortage of affordable housing.
