HURRICANE, W.Va. (WV News) — Law enforcement in West Virginia early Saturday evening arrested a fugitive wanted in connection with the death of a Maryland Parole and Probation agent.

“Believe it or not, West Virginia is a good place to hide. We’ve caught fugitives from Los Angeles, from Canada and other countries hiding here,” Waggaman said. “They think it’s a rural state, it's off the beaten path, not a lot of people talk about this state, it’s a great place to hide, but luckily we have skilled deputy marshals and most of us are from West Virginia and very familiar with the state  itself.”

Multiple sex offenders taken into custody were found to be non-compliant with the sex offender registry.

A Charleston, West Virginia, man wanted in connection with a Nov. 30, 2022, slaying was arrested by U.S. marshals in Baltimore Wednesday.

Authorities said a teenager died in the shooting.
