BOONE — Boone native Julie A. Richardson was recently awarded the prestigious Mark R. Sumner Lifetime Achievement Award at the 60th Anniversary Celebration of the National Conference on Outdoor Theatre.

“Le Code Noir,” producer and director Tommye Myrick’s historical drama, starts in just the right place for its epic story. The outdoor historical drama premieres in Congo Square this weekend.

Congo Square will be the site of a world-premiere dramatic production that speaks to the history, heart and soul of the historic New Orleans location.
