In addition to being a House Historical Association board member, in my prior life, i did eight years in the Obama White House, six years as mrs. Obamas chief of staff during the entire eight years, i also ran the White House Council on women and girls. And so theres a special place in my heart for women in the white house, where women in history or women as leaders our country, and how important it is to tell that story wherever it is and bring out that rich history. I was struck last night by the photo of the first steak dinner that we saw and how it was just a bunch of men gathered in the blue there and how things are now, but how we should uncover the stories because there were clearly women behind all those men standing in that picture as.
