New Mexico’s hot air balloon festival—one of the most photographed events on Earth—takes place in early October at Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque each year.

For nine days in October, the Albuquerque skies are filled with more than 500 balloons of all shapes, sizes and colors.
