The preseason is over, rosters are just about finalized and the 2022 NFL campaign is practically here. Short of a few last-minute changes, the football world...

The Bears’ initial 53-man roster includes just 22 of the 77 players the new general manager inherited from Ryan Pace when he was hired in January — with 13 rookies making the team.

More than 50 NFL experts rated players one to 100 based on how good we expect them to be during the 2022 season. Heres our ranking.

Without Roquan Smith, Robert Quinn, Eddie Jackson and Jaylon Johnson, a makeshift defense still stifled the Browns. Next up: the 49ers. “When we play Week 1, we should have everybody back, and that’s gonna be real scary for a lot of teams,” tackle Justin Jones said.

The preseason ends Saturday and camp is done, so here is a last call on the 53-man Chicago Bears roster for 2022.

Here are predictions for who will make the team.

It might take a while for Jones to earn a spot in the offense, but he can be a factor in the return game until then. He nearly fumbled away the opening kickoff Thursday, but also had a big return that led to a touchdown.

The disgruntled linebacker, who was on the sideline for the game against the Seahawks, is the lone “hold-in” remaining in the NFL after safety Derwin James signed a four-year, $76.4 million contract extension with the Chargers. Will that push the Bears to make a deal? Don’t count on it.

Someone wake Matt Nagy: This play is what the Justin Fields offense is supposed to look like.

He’ll play slot cornerback, one of the most important in Matt Eberflus’ defensive scheme, to start the season.
