Fifty years ago a community came together to purchase a park, and on Saturday night hundreds gathered to thank those who had the vision for what is now called Hibou Conservation Area. On a beautiful sun-soaked Saturday evening folks gathered around the pavilion stage listening to live music as others splashed in the calm bay and more still enjoyed the barbecue provided by Sydenham Junior Optimists.

The Friends of Hibou Park are throwing a party to help celebrate the 50-year anniversary of the parks purchase for public use on Saturday.  The family event will feature live music, childrens activities and a cash-only barbecue supported by the Sydenham Junior Optimists.
