The Marin Municipal Water District has approved a polarizing recreation management study that recommends pilot programs to expand bicycle access in the Mount Tamalpais watershed.
After several months of study, water district officials and consultants are considering projects that would increase storage capacity by about 20,000-acre feet.
The collaboration aims to defend the Mount Tamalpais watershed from wildfires through invasive broom removal, pile burning, prescribed burns and other projects.
While the board was expected to approve the document, the members suggested several new red-line edits they said should be compiled in a final draft before taking a vote.
