Graves County Schools is offering both its facilities and its faculty to the local community to help aid in the recovery efforts from last weekend’s devastating storms.

More western Kentucky school districts in recent weeks have lifted indoor mask mandates citing declining COVID-19 incidence rates across the region, yet some public health officials and parents are worried about future spread of the virus with many children still not fully vaccinated.

A Graves County Schools program was awarded a substantial grant, a school official said at Thursday’s board of education meeting. Graves County Circuit Judge Kevin Bishop has denied a motion seeking a temporary restraining order and a temporary injunction against the Graves County Schools Board of Education regarding Lowes Elementary School.
