Graves County Circuit Judge Kevin Bishop has denied a motion seeking a temporary restraining order and a temporary injunction against the Graves County Schools Board of Education regarding Lowes Elementary School.
The motion was made in an effort to keep the board from closing Lowes Elementary School after it voted on March to shut its doors for good by the end of last month.
The judge’s decision comes a week after the plaintiffs’ attorney, Lucas McCall, and the defense’s attorney, Randall Redding, deliberated on the merits of the case, with Superintendent Matthew Madding being the primary witness.
McCall said the plaintiffs are weighing their options on what their next move should be.
