Łutsel K'e Dene First Nation lawyers on Tuesday rebutted evidence presented by Ron Barlas's lawyers in an ongoing legal battle with the suspended Denesoline CEO.

Suspended Denesoline CEO Ron Barlas designed contracts which gave him the power to bankrupt the company “at his whim”, lawyers for Denesoline owner Łutsel K'e Dene First Nation argued in Northwest Territories Supreme Court on Friday.

Reynolds Mirth Richards & Farmer said it represented three Łutsel K'e Dene First Nation companies in the case, but on Friday one of the firm's lawyers told the N.W.T Supreme Court that was no longer the case.

A lawyer told the court Friday the attempted wire transfer last week was "inappropriate." A Supreme Court Judge made a freezing order on Ron Barlas's assets indefinite, meaning it doesn't have to be revisited every 10 days.

An N.W.T. Supreme Court judge has also put the corporation Ron Barlas is the CEO and director of into the temporary care of a Calgary-based accounting firm.
