Staff Writer ST. CLAIRSVILLE Ohio State Highway Patrol Lt. Last year, the same time frame, we had one crash and zero OVI arrests,” Waddell said. He added that freezing rain and other inclement weather may have contributed to the accidents that did occur as well as to keeping people at home. “I’m sure that played into … people deciding not to go out,” he said. These figures add to those recorded over the Christmas holiday. From Dec. 24 through Dec. 25, there were no OVI arrests but 11 crashes. Waddell said there were eight crashes and one OVI arrest during that same time frame in 2019.
