Nearly 3,000 schematics belonging to Elon Musk's spacecraft manufacturer SpaceX were purported to have been stolen by the LockBit ransomware operation following an attack against Texas-based contract manufacturing facility Maximum Industries, according to SecurityWeek.

The prolific ransomware group LockBit called out billionaire Elon Musk earlier this week as it warned of auctioning off the certified drawings in a significant data leak.

The LockBit gang plans on auctioning off the stolen data, which includes 3,000 schematic drawings supposedly from SpaceX engineers.

The data seems to have been stolen in a supply chain attack, but SpaceX is quiet for now.

"Elon Musk we will help you sell your drawings to other manufacturers—build the ship faster and fly away," the LockBit ransomware gang wrote on its site.
