Two Charged In String Of Burglaries, Thefts

By WMAY Newsroom Shutterstock Two men have been arrested for a string of burglaries of businesses and ATM and gaming machines around Sangamon County and surrounding areas. 26-year-old Austin Angeli and 30-year-old Cody Snow-Angeli were arrested Monday on five counts of burglary and four counts of theft. Among the locations they allegedly hit over a five-day period were the Firefighters Lake Club, Aqua Sports Club, and the Oaks Golf Course. They’re being held on $200,000 bond each.

Student COVID Cases Drop In District 186

By WMAY Newsroom Photo: Springfield School District 186 / Official Website With more school-age children now being vaccinated, the number of new COVID-19 cases among District 186 students is declining. According to the district’s COVID dashboard, there were six new student cases reported in the past week… the lowest weekly amount since hybrid students returned to classrooms four days a week in April. There have been 44 student cases so far in May… compared to 85 in April.
