repairs xcel was working on repairs and the power outage happened. that led to the yellowish smoke. a suncor spokesperson told us it was a claylike material they use as a catalyst that was actually released, but again the colorado department of public health and environment says they do not have enough information yet to determine whether it was hazardous, but they add it does not appear to pose an immediate risk to the an automated emergency call to people within 2 miles of the refinery advising them to shelter in place. when we get an unusual event, you have your everyday normal operations at refineries, other businesses. when something goes wrong, we never know how far that chain of events will go. so we want to stay ahead of it and we take actions so that we can confine the area until we re absolutely sure what is reporter: now investigators with local, state and federal agencies are on scene as they investigate what happened here. by the way, there were no injuries

get down to the south. you see monarch pass we ve got 64 mile-per-hour gusts. they get a little bit less the closer you get to pueblo but even canyon city seeing 29 mile- per-hour gusts at this hour. it s those kind of gusts that we ll see well into the evening hours. it s making for some incredible pictures all across the front range there. you can see what the winds are doing to the flags fort collins. you ve likely noticed the wind shift behind it and cooler air starting to move in. that front is bringing the winds and a little bit of rain and snow. you can see some of that snow right up along our northern mountains, but it just completely dies out, dries off as soon as it hits that dry air once you get to the foothills east of i-25. temperatures now, 66 degrees in denver. we got into the 70s today. it s 62 in greeley, 63 in fort and 60s through the foothills. the next civil hours we ll continue to cool off. several hours we ll continue to cool off and keep you clear. we
